Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment

VA Chapter 31

The Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) VetSuccess Program is authorized by Congress under Title 38, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 31.  It is sometimes referred to as the Chapter 31 program.  The VetSuccess program assists Veterans with service-connected disabilities to prepare for, find, and keep suitable jobs.  For Veterans with service-connected disabilities so severe that they can not immediately consider work, VetSuccess offers services to improve their ability to live as independently as possible.

Steps to Receive Benefits

Students must repeat these steps every semester to receive VA Chapter 31 Benefits

  1. Contact a VA Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at (318)676-3425

  2. Meet with your LSUA Academic Advisor

  3. Register for classes

  4. Complete LSUA's VA Certification Data Form

  5. Submit LSUA VA Certification Data Form to Financial Aid Office

  6. Submit a copy of your approved Authorization VA Form 28-1905 to Financial Aid Office

  7. Create your W.A.V.E. account to sign-up for Direct Deposit of VA funds

Enrollment verification must be reported by you, monthly, to the VA.
