Student Budgets

Cost of attendance budgets are estimated average costs of completing an academic year at LSUA. These costs are compiled of both Direct and Indirect costs and serve as the foundation for determining your eligible aid.

Be sure to note: Student budgets are not your balance owed to LSUA. To view your actual balance owed 

  • Log in to your myLSUA

  • Navigate to self service

  • click the Finances tab

  • select balance

Direct Costs

Direct costs are paid by you, directly to LSU Alexandria using either Financial aid or cash payments.

  • Tuition and Fees

  • Food and Housing (on campus residents only)

 

Indirect Costs

These costs are not billed and paid to LSUA. Any Financial Aid refund can be used to cover these costs. Amounts will vary by student as these costs are incurred individually.

  • Books & Supplies

  • Transportation

  • Miscellaneous

  • Living allowance (off campus students)

Additional Notes

  • A computer cost may be added for students who purchase a computer for their major or
    residential college. The computer does not have to be required by the college or major
    to be added to the COA. The cost may be given each year with documentation of
    purchase of up to $1,200.

  • A cost for Federal Loan Origination Fees will be added for those students who accept a
    Federal Stafford Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and/or Plus Loan.

  • A cost for a obtaining a license, certification, or a first professional license will be added
    to the student’s Cost of Attendance if required by the program.

  • Aviation fees will be added to students cost of attendance budget, upon request, if
    present on their fee bill.

These are based on full-time enrollment, 12 hours each semester.
